"I loved a maid as fair as summer, with sunlight in her hair."
That's Tyrion's line, and it's quite what inspired this one. Jaime and Cersei are beautiful and fucked up and so dysfunctional it's not funny, but I adore the dynamics all the same. Probably because it's not quite the usual romantic incest! you have going on. Well. It was. Maybe. Once upon a time, before things went to hell in impressionable minds. On Jaime's side, at least, that's the way it's been for 30 years. And Cersei...despite being Cersei, like that, I do think her love for Jaime---while not necessarily pure and beautiful as most stuff goes, is not all fake either. Cersei's just....weird. The reason she acts so 'disgustingly', imo, is because she....sees the world with different lens. I think that's fascinating.

"A cherry blossom is a cherry blossom, a plum blossom is a plum blossom. They're different, but they're both beautiful ...everything blooms according to its nature."
This is so beautiful and delicate...somehow, I see it very much as a Jaime-perspective picture, even though it portrays both of them equally; it seems like he was always the more idealistic and "pure" of the two. I can see him looking back on a scene like this with a lot of nostalgia. The soft, warm, grey/violet tone you used for this really adds to it.

Poor kids. This must be before the War of the Usurper sealed their fates and set them down on the path of chaos, from which only Jamie is beginning to escape ...
Personally, I think Cersei did not seriously began whoring herself out until after her marriage to Robert, and I think Jamie tried to hold true to the knightly ideal up until the moment he opened King Aery's throat.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
